A Historic and Friendly Buckhead Neighborhood. Hanover West, a proudly identified community, was initially developed in 1960 by Dean Spratlin on property formerly owned by the Hyde family. The plan included the future development of Hanover East on the East side of Bohler Road, across from the Hanover West entrance, hence the name "Hanover West."However, the dense underbrush and trees in the area later became Cross Creek, developed by Tom Cousins in 1965 with Rockefeller financing and Bartholome design. Originally, the main entrance to Cross Creek was supposed to be opposite the entrance from Bohler Road to Hanover West.

Thanks to Benny Irvin and Hanover West's Civic Association Committee, the proposed site was designated as a flood plain. Cousins conceded to move the main Cross Creek entry further up Bohler Road from directly opposite Hanover West to its present location. Today, Hanover West is an intimate community in the desirable west Buckhead area, boasting around 100 homes. Despite changes over time, Hanover West remains one of the most sought-after residential locations in the city. The neighborhood is renowned for its friendly and family-oriented atmosphere, attracting congenial residents of all ages.
