A Tranquil Green Oasis Welcome to Memorial Park Neighborhood, an enchanting retreat nestled around Atlanta Memorial Park, the city's third-largest public park, spanning nearly 200 acres. This picturesque neighborhood is divided into two sections, flanking both sides of Northside Drive, just north of Collier Road. The park's inception dates back to 1929 when Hoke Smith, J.W. Bedell, and the Howell family generously donated the land to the city to commemorate the soldiers who bravely fought in the Civil War's Battle of Peachtree Creek.
 
Historical markers in the area pay tribute to this significant battle that once took place in and around the park's serene location. The western section of the park, stretching between Northside Drive and Howell Mill Road, follows the Southern Bank of Peachtree Creek. This verdant green space boasts a large playground, abundant picnic tables, and benches for leisurely gatherings. As you venture further west, the amenities become more sparse, making way for lush trees and well-maintained trails meandering among white ash and sweet gum trees.
 
On the east side of Northside Drive, you'll find the Bobby Jones Golf Course and the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center, adding to the neighborhood's appeal. This section also serves as the current north end of the Northwest Beltline Connector Trail, offering a scenic route connecting Memorial Park to Tanyard Creek Park and Ardmore Park before seamlessly joining the Atlanta Beltline Trail.
